RubyCats launches new ‘Late Night Hang’ event series

The cats are ready to party – after hours.
RubyCats, Toledo’s first cat café, is introducing a brand-new event series designed for night owls and feline fans alike: Late Night Hang, an exclusive, adults-only experience that lets you enjoy the café after dark with our most playful residents.

Late Night Hang is a twice-monthly, after-hours session held on the 2nd and 4th Saturdays of each month from 10 p.m. to midnight. It’s a chance to unwind in a cozy, low-key setting while our cats unleash their evening energy, zoomies and all.
The first Late Night Hang will take place on Saturday, May 24 at 10 p.m. inside our warm and whimsical space at 618 Adams Street. To keep the experience intimate, each session is limited to just 12 participants who are 18+. Tickets are $25 per person, with a 10% discount available for RubyCats Club members.
Why late night?
Cats are crepuscular, meaning they’re naturally most active in the early morning and late evening. It’s part of their natural rhythm. That makes this the perfect time to see them at their most curious, energetic, and playful.
“We wanted to create something a little different, a space where grown-ups can relax, laugh, and connect over a shared love of cats,” said Tallie Carter, Founding Executive Director at RubyCats. “Late Night Hang is about embracing the cats’ natural rhythms and giving our community a unique, joyful way to experience the café.”
About RubyCats
RubyCats, which opened in January 2025, is a nonprofit cat café and rescue focused on helping adoptable cats find loving homes while offering a welcoming space for guests to relax, sip coffee, and connect with animals. The nonprofit, volunteer-run organization was founded in 2022 on a mission to help cats in need by creating an environment where all cat lovers can meet up to look for their next family pet, hang out with furry feline friends, or contribute to animal safety.
What is a cat café?
A cat café is a beautiful indoor place where cat lovers can come watch and interact with cats and kittens. Many of the cats are adoptable, but you do not have to intend to adopt to visit. Timed tickets are required to visit.
