Toledo Blade: Cat cafe to hold cupcake decorating fund-raiser (Nov. 14, 2024)
Tallie Carter, founder and executive director of RubyCats, said space for the soon-to-be-opened cat cafe at 618 Adams St. is nearly complete. Interior walls and windows are in place, and electrical and plumbing systems are in order, she said. The major work that remains involves flooring installation and painting.
“We’ll use the money we raise on Sunday mostly for furniture and decor,” Ms. Carter said. “For example, we need to buy seats for people who come to the cafe and want to spend time with the cats there.”
Once the cat cafe is open, people will be able to drop in, hang out in a room full of cats, and perhaps even go home with one — or more.
Both the idea and the name for the cafe originated with Ms. Carter’s daughter Ruby.
