Surrendering a Cat or Kitten

We know that rehoming a cat can be difficult. RubyCats is a small organization with limited space, so we cannot accept every cat and usually operate with a waitlist.

Submitting the form does not guarantee that we can accept your cat.

Never leave a cat outside our facility or bring a cat without a confirmed appointment.

Is your cat a potential fit?

RubyCats provides an open, social environment where cats interact with other cats and many different people.

We may be able to consider cats who:

  • Are comfortable or have the potential to become comfortable with people

  • Can safely live around other cats

  • Are likely to adjust to an active, communal environment

  • Do not have serious medical or specialized care needs

We are not equipped to accept cats requiring emergency treatment, surgery, intensive nursing, or ongoing specialized medical care. Please contact a veterinarian directly if a cat needs urgent medical attention.

Request help from RubyCats

Complete our surrender questionnaire and provide as much honest information as possible. We will review your request and contact you if the cat may be a fit for our program or waitlist.

Please continue caring for the cat and exploring other safe options while you wait. Placement and response times cannot be guaranteed.
